Imagine getting paid just for using a chatbot and giving your opinion about its answers. That’s exactly what the new platform Yupp, founded by CEO Pankaj Gupta, offers: up to $50 a month simply for your feedback on AI-generated responses. If you’ve wondered how artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT or Gemini get smarter, or wanted to benefit from the growing data economy without needing technical skills, Yupp presents an interesting opportunity.

Yupp sets itself apart from classic AI chatbots. When you submit a prompt, you’re shown two answers generated by two different large language models (LLMs), chosen from a pool of over 500—including ones from big players like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Alibaba, DeepSeek, and Mistral. You review both responses, pick the one you think is better, and explain your choice. For your effort, you’re rewarded with Yupp credits through a digital scratch card—kind of like a lottery ticket.
Here’s how the earnings system works:
- 1,000 Yupp credits = $1
- Maximum cash out: $10 a day / $50 per month
- Withdraw via PayPal, Venmo, or even crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum) to reach users globally
You do have to spend a bit to earn: generating an answer costs some Yupp credits. But you get access to premium models (sometimes usually locked behind a paywall) and can generate both text and images to evaluate.

Your feedback helps teach AI models to be more accurate. All ratings are anonymized and aggregated, then sold to companies to improve AI through reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF). For AI developers, this feedback is extremely valuable; for users, it means a chance to earn a bit of cash—or just learn more about how these systems work.
Yupp isn’t the only player in this space. LMArena is another site where users compare models and watch them rise up (or down) a leaderboard based on performance. But Yupp goes further in gamifying the experience, making it accessible worldwide, and letting anyone—techie or not—take part and get paid.
During a test for WIRED, answers to a political question about LA protests drew on major news outlets and even YouTube videos from the White House. Users spend credits to submit prompts, provide feedback, and in about an hour could accrue around $4—while also getting exposure to cutting-edge models usually hidden behind paywalls.
Yupp’s CEO, a former early Twitter employee (and backed by Twitter cofounder Biz Stone), emphasizes transparency: “You provide feedback; that data is going to be used in an anonymized way and sent to the model builders,” Gupta says. Unlike past social apps that hoarded user data, Yupp puts value and compensation back into the hands of the users.
Whether you want smarter answers, are curious about how generative AI works, or just want to earn a few dollars on the side, Yupp gives a tangible way to shape the future of AI. As Gupta notes: “It’s better than free, because you are doing this great thing for AI’s future.” And $50 is $50!
