British Man Miraculously Survives Deadly India Plane Crash

In a shocking disaster, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national, emerged as the only survivor of an Air India Boeing 787-8 crash near Ahmedabad, India, killing 241 passengers and crew.

Ramesh was seated in 11A on the flight to London that crashed soon after takeoff. His brother revealed he has no idea how he survived the fatal impact that claimed 169 Indian nationals and 52 other Britons.

Despite injuries and covered in blood, Ramesh managed to walk away from the wreckage and was seen recovering in hospital, even meeting Indian interior minister Amit Shah. His boarding pass confirmed his identity and sole survivor status.

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik confirmed one survivor was found in seat 11A and treated in hospital. Ramesh described the terrifying moment: "30 seconds after takeoff there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed," he said.

The crash also claimed lives of multiple British families. Authorities continue investigating the crash that occurred less than a minute after takeoff and impacted doctors' accommodation.

King Charles III, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences. Crisis teams and consular support mobilized. London Gatwick Airport set up a reception center for relatives.
